Using boulders in your Long Island landscape design

by on June 18, 2014

If you’re looking to add a dramatic effect to your Long Island landscape design, boulders are an often overlooked design choice.

When most people design their Long Island landscape, they choose pavers, brick or other simplistic cement choices. However, boulders can also be used for walkways, retaining walls and as decorative items to give your Long Island landscape an eclectic look.

  • Rounded edge boulders can be used in a variety of ways. They can be used as decorations in your Long Island landscape beds to give it an earthier look. They can also be used to frame a waterscape such as a koi pond to give it a more natural appeal.
  • Rectangular boulders are perfect for retaining walls and framing walkways. These boulders are also ideal for building a nice sitting area to enjoy your Long Island landscape.
  • Large blocky boulders are great additions to your in-ground pool, making it look like a natural oasis in the middle of your Long Island landscape.

If you’re looking for something different than what all the neighbors have on their Long Island landscape, consult your local Long Island landscaping company to see what kind of boulder designs they can create on your one-of-a-kind Long Island landscape.
