Spruce up your Long Island landscaping with Mexican pavers

by on January 28, 2015

Mexican pavers are hand-made clay pavers that come in four different varieties: Saltillo, Super Saltillo, Lincoln and Hacienda. They can be used both indoor and outdoor on walkways, patios, driveways, balconies, and even as kitchen or bathroom tiles. These pavers are ideal because they are available in different shapes and sizes.

Saltillo:

Prepared from clay from Saltillo, Mexico, Saltillo is the most widely used of this group of pavers. Its colors range from off-whites to peachy reds, an array to match any individual’s tastes. Saltillo pavers offer a rustic quality because typically each paver is distinctive in color and texture.

Super Saltillo:

The Super Saltillo has a solid facade with curved edges. It is not stainable, limiting the number of available colors, and does not seal well, which might have an effect on its texture. This type of paver differs greatly from the Saltillo, but still adds a rustic quality to the residence.

Lincoln:

Lincoln clay comes in a darkish brown color. This clay type preserves color uniformity from one paver to the next and very sturdy and long-lasting.

Hacienda:

Hacienda is also very durable and can be customized to your specifications in size and shape. This type of clay paver can be used inside and outside, but its durability and ability to be manipulated into any shape or size makes this pavers ideal for outdoor walkways, patios and driveways. Hacienda pavers are typically available in yellows and oranges.
